This guide provides instructions and information about Stanford Web Services Jumpstart platform, based on Drupal 7.
We've released our new Stanford Sites on Drupal 8 (D8) platform — the new framework for Stanford Sites in 2020 and beyond. Check out our new User Guide to help you set up your website on the D8 platform.
You can use the Affiliate Organization feature to display the logos of organizations that are affiliated with yours.
By default, the Affiliates menu item on your site will likely link to a display of affiliates' logos using a Grid view. However, the Affiliate Organization feature provides several alternatives for displaying these logos. By changing the link for the Affiliates menu item, your site can display one of these alternative views.
The Affiliate Organization feature provides two main views (Grid and List), with the option to display or not display titles for both:
You can use any of the views for your affiliates page(s). The Grid view with no titles is the default view for the affiliates page. To modify the view, simply add /list, /titles, or /list/titles to the end of the URL. For example, if you want to see your page in List view with no titles, add /list to the end of the path so it reads /affiliate-organizations/list. If you would like a List view with the titles of the affiliates shown, use the /affiliate-organizations/list/titles path.
Your site can have a minimum of two affiliates. The grid view displays five affiliates on each row, for best display results consider using the list view if your number of affiliates is not divisible by five.
In addition to the 4 main views (Grid and List, each with or without titles), it is possible to make them Grouped by taxonomy terms by adding /grouped at the end of the URL, e.g. /affiliate-organizations/titles/grouped (Grid view with titles, Grouped by taxonomy term). The order of the taxonomy groups is set by the weights of the taxonomy terms (e.g. Diamond, Platinum, Gold).
You can also organize your pages by taxonomy terms. This allows you to create pages that display affiliates tagged with just that taxonomy term. First you will have to create a vocabulary.
Once you have the taxonomy terms created, you can use them to create views. To see a view created with that taxonomy term, add the term to the very end of the path, after the view options. For example, if you created a taxonomy term called "Gold" you would add /gold to the end of the path so it read /affiliate-organizations/gold. This will give you a page that displays all affiliate organizations tagged with the term "Gold" with the default Grid layout with no titles. And if you wanted titles as well in the Grid view, the path would be: /affiliate-organizations/titles/gold.
* Note that the /grouped view option does not affect views set by a taxonomy term.
You have an option to display your affiliates on your site's homepage. You can choose between the Grid or List view, but if you only have two affiliates you can display them in a 2-stacked block. To add or change the view of a block you must submit a request to Stanford Web Services via our support form from the Get Help page on your admin shortcuts bar.
A site owner or editor can change or remove the title of the affiliates block.
To change a page from the default view, you will have to change the page path in the main menu.
