Link to Another Website from Your Menu

Site owners have permission to link to another website from the main menu.

  1. From the Site Actions menu, click Edit Main Menu.
  2. Click + Add link.
  3. Add Menu link title.
  4. Add URL Path.
  5. Add Description information (optional).
  6. Choose <Main menu> to add the link in your top navigation.
  7. Apply a Weight to the item to place it above or below other items (optional).
  8. Click Save.
Best practice tip: It's a good idea to indicate that the link points outside your site by using language like: "View Bulletin Website" or just "axess.stanford.edu" if the URL is fairly short.
