Insert Video and Audio Files

Site owners have permission to add audio/video files to the website.

Stanford Sites Jumpstart Service supports third-party video/audio providers for both Stanford page nodes and blocks.

Note: Adding video/audio files requires Full HTML format.  Keep in mind, mistakes made when using this text format can break your site. Users with the role of site owner and editor have permissions for using Full HTML, therefore, these roles should not be given to untrusted users.

Adding a video/audio file

  1. Have the Embed code ready and available from the third-party provider.
  2. Add a new page or edit an existing page/block.
  3. Below the WYSIWYG editor, click the Text format arrow and change the text format to Full HTML format.
  4. In the WYSIWYG editor, paste the YouTube/Vimeo embed code.
  5. Click Save.
